Dr. Leo K.Y. Chow joined TVM Capital China since its inception in mid-2015. Working directly under the Head of the China office, Leo takes an integral role in both investment and investor relations activities, from sourcing, due diligence and execution of life science investment opportunities, to liaising with the fund’s strategic Limited Partner.
Prior to joining TVM Capital China, Leo began his career in technology transfer at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he accelerated the commercialization of early stage technologies created from academic research. Leo has been instrumental in the entire technology transfer process, from strategy planning, intellectual property protection to contract negotiation, leading a number of licensing and research collaboration transactions in a broad range of areas, such as, cancer therapeutic and diagnostic, modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine, medical device, agricultural technology, etc.
Before starting his professional career in business, Leo obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Nottingham, and a BSc in Biomolecular Sciences from King’s College London. Leo also serves as a Chairman for the Young Bio Entrepreneur Committee of HKBIO, a non-profit association with the mission of supporting the biotech industry in Hong Kong.
